All Settings Explained
Every option in the demo's menus, with the game's own description and a recommended starting point. The 🔥 marks the settings the community asks about most.
Common requests, answered
DLSS, FSR 3 + Frame Gen, XeSS and ray tracing are all here (Video → Upscaler). For motion sickness, drop Camera Shake and Motion Blur. Note: the demo has no separate FOV slider — lowering Post-Processing reduces the vignette some players dislike.
Video
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Quality Preset | One-click Low/Medium/High/Epic preset for all graphics options.→ Start here, then tune below |
| Window Mode | In Windowed mode you can interact with other windows and drag the edges; Fullscreen and Borderless take the whole screen.→ Fullscreen or Borderless |
| Resolution | Display resolution. In Windowed Fullscreen it must match your desktop resolution.→ Native |
| Resolution Scale | The 3D resolution objects are rendered at. Controlled by the Upscaler when one is active.→ Let the upscaler drive it |
| Upscaler | Choose Off, FXAA, TAA, TSR, NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR or Intel XeSS. Rendering upscalers draw at a lower resolution then upscale for performance.→ DLSS (RTX) / FSR / TSR — Quality |
| DLSS Mode | AI upscaling on NVIDIA RTX cards, from Ultra Performance up to Ultra Quality, plus DLAA. Requires a current driver.→ Quality or DLAA |
| AMD FSR 3 Mode | FidelityFX Super Resolution spatial/temporal upscaling. Works on most GPUs.→ Quality |
| FSR 3 Frame Generation | Generates extra frames to boost smoothness. Doesn't reduce input latency — pair with Anti-Lag.→ On if base FPS already feels responsive |
| AMD Anti-Lag 2 | Game-integrated technology that reduces input lag. Works with the FSR path.→ On |
| Frame Rate Limit | Caps your framerate. A cap a few FPS below your refresh smooths frame pacing.→ A few below your refresh rate |
| V-Sync | Eliminates screen tearing by syncing the framerate to the display's refresh.→ Off if you have a frame cap / G-Sync |
| Ray Tracing | Simulates how light interacts with the scene. Requires hardware support and DirectX 12 mode.→ Off unless you have headroom |
| HDR | Enables High Dynamic Range on compatible displays. Reported as looking washed out for some players.→ Off if it looks flat — use SDR |
| View Distance | How far detailed geometry is drawn.→ High |
| Anti Aliasing | Edge smoothing. Turning it off causes heavy shimmering on the period detail.→ Leave on (TSR/TAA) |
| Post Process Quality | Bloom, depth of field and screen effects. Lowering also tones down the vignette.→ Medium |
| Shadow Quality | Shadow resolution and draw distance — a large GPU cost.→ Medium (big saving) |
| Textures Quality | Texture resolution. Tied to VRAM — drop it if you see texture pop-in or a VRAM leak.→ High if VRAM allows |
| Effects Quality | Particle and blood-magic effect density. Heavy in big fights.→ Medium |
| Material Quality | Surface shading detail.→ Medium–High |
| Blur | Motion blur simulates the blurring of moving objects. Off gives a crisper read on enemy wind-ups.→ Off |
| Gore Effect | Blood and dismemberment intensity.→ Taste |
| Brightness | Overall lightness/darkness of the visuals.→ Calibrate to your display |
| Gamma | Adjusts how black transitions to white across the image.→ Default |
| Contrast | Difference between light and dark tones.→ Default |
| HUD Scale | Size of the interface elements during gameplay.→ Taste |

| Mouse Aiming Sensitivity | A modifier that lowers mouse sensitivity while aiming. At 1 there's no change.→ Below 1 for steadier shots |
| Controller Sensitivity | Determines how fast the camera rotates on a gamepad. |
| Controller Aiming Sensitivity | Modifier that lowers controller sensitivity while aiming. |
| Controller Response Curve | How stick input maps to camera speed, with a response-curve mapping option. |
