Controls & Key Bindings
What the demo actually lets you change — and the answers to the most common control questions players have. Yes, there's lock-on. Yes, you can rebind everything.
Quick answers to the FAQs
- Lock-on exists — “Target Lock On/Off”, with a Switch Target control.
- Full rebinding — every action takes a primary and a secondary key, with Reset to Defaults.
- Crosshair and the whole HUD can be toggled off.
- Crouch (and similar) can be set to Hold, Toggle or Press.
Controller schemes
Beyond fully custom key bindings, the controller has five preset schemes if you'd rather not remap by hand:
| Scheme | Idea |
|---|---|
| Default | The standard layout. |
| Classic | A more traditional Souls-style mapping. |
| Dodge / Block Swap | Swaps the dodge and block buttons. |
| Bumper Jumper | Moves jump to a bumper to keep the stick free for camera. |
| Bumper Jumper 2 | An alternate bumper-jumper variant. |
Controller icons can be themed for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 or Nintendo, including DualSense and Joy-Con / Pro Controller.
Rebindable actions
Every action below appears in the keyboard binding list and can be reassigned. (The demo exposes the action names; the exact default key for each isn't in the data we extract, so check in-game for the live defaults.)

Aiming & sensitivity
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mouse Sensitivity | Base look speed for mouse. |
| Mouse Aiming Sensitivity | A separate modifier that lowers sensitivity while aiming a firearm. |
| Controller Sensitivity | Look speed on a gamepad, with a separate aiming modifier. |
| Controller Response Curve | How stick input maps to camera speed, plus a response-curve mapping option. |
| Invert Vertical / Horizontal Axis | Flip either look axis. |
The separate aiming-sensitivity modifier matters for the firearm and Transmutation play — set it lower than your hipfire sensitivity for steadier shots and Stasis throws.
Combat assist & feel
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Combat Assist | Controls how strongly the camera snaps toward the enemy you're attacking — turn up if your hits whiff, down if it fights your aim. |
| Target Lock / Switch Target | Lock the camera onto an enemy and cycle between them. |
| Grappling Assist | Aim help for grapple-style movement. |
| Quick Cast | Casts a skill the moment you select it, skipping a confirm step. |
| Instant Restart | Restart from the last checkpoint without sitting through the death screen — a big one for boss runbacks. |
| Crouch Mode | Hold, Toggle or Press. |
HUD & display
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Crosshair | Show or hide the crosshair. |
| Show UI | Toggle the entire HUD on or off — handy for screenshots. |
| HUD Scale | Resize the interface. |
| Gameplay Counters | Show on-screen time and death counters (useful for challenge runs). |
| Camera Shake | Low or Standard intensity. |
| Subtitles & Subtitle Size | Toggle subtitles; size Small, Medium or Big. |
